President Kiir appoints AMDISS Secretary Media Authority Board member

[Juba, South Sudan, CRN] The President of the Republic on Tuesday issued a decree appointing the Secretary of the Association for Media Development in South Sudan or AMDISS Irene Ayaa as a member of the Media Authority Board of Directors.
 
In the decree read over South Sudan Television, Ms Aya replaced Awak Bior a member of the board of Gurtong Peace and Media Trust.
 
President Kiir in another decree appointed Nicodemus Ajak Bior Information Commissioner deputized by Moses Wol Deng Atak.
 
The two decrees were effective from Tuesday September 22.
 
Access to Information Act, one of the three media laws the government passed last year with the support of the media created the position of information commissioner to promote lawful disclosures of information in response to media or researchers inquiries.
