Dear Reader,
Thank you for making the time to view this page. This page introduces you to the Directory of Churches in South Sudan. We have set up a simple form to collect basic information about your Church/Congregation or religious institution for the purpose of creating a functional directory for South Sudan Churches to be available for public information on our website (www.thechristiantimes.net). Our first phase is to register and publish 500 churches/congregations located in Juba and from various denominations.
This exercise is part of the South Sudan Directory of Churches and Religious Institutions project initiated by the Good Shepherd Foundation (GSF) and is being implemented by The Christian Times (TCT) an affiliate of the Good Shepherd Foundation. GSF is a Christian not for profit organization registered with South Sudan Relief and Rehabilitation Commission (RCC # 911) with focus on education, advocacy, and peacebuilding.
Established in 2004, TCT executes advocacy and media related activities of GSF. TCT aims in publishing stories of hope and inspiration for the last 14 years. Its print version was halted in 2014 due to economic difficulty in South Sudan, but reporting has continued through its online platform [www.thechristiantimes.net] targeting masses of South Sudanese diaspora and in South Sudan.
TCT positions itself on reporting through its Christian viewpoint. It promotes positive messaging with commitment to its mission of informing, educating, inspiring and restoring hope among South Sudanese. We work closely with Churches and likeminded civil society groups to bring our readers up to date with credible and balance reporting that is manifested in well-researched and objective content in the categories of current news, features, analysis, and opinions. With our social media tools, we have built significant following on Twitter and Facebook of 600 and 2000 respectively.
TCT has recognized the huge information gap that currently exists in South Sudan for nationals and foreign visitors who may want to know for example what churches are in Juba, where they are located, and what times their services are scheduled etc. We believe by establishing this database or directory, it this will increase church attendance, as well as making your church/congregation known both locally and globally.
It is in this light that TCT has embarked on this project to collect and profile basic information of Churches and other religious institutions in Juba, to create a Directory of Churches and other religious institutions. Once completed, this Directory will be made available on our website as well as in print for easy referencing, location and data. Your church will be notified about the availability of the directory.
Based on this background, the leadership of GSF would like to request your esteemed cooperation and consent in providing us with the basic information we are seeking about your institution, which you may feel comfortable to be publish on our public domain.
Our consultant will use the attached form designed to capture information. Before filling the data collection, please download the Consent Form and send it to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
When done click on the Menu Submit Church and fill the form with details of your church. You can also download the TCT Church Profile Form, fill it manually and send to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
Once again, we thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Yours in Christ
