Dembesh Hotel, one of the largest foreign owned hospitality businesses in Juba, is to establish a hotel management training institute within its premises.

Dembesh Hotel, one of the largest foreign owned hospitality businesses in Juba, is to establish a hotel management training institute within its premises.

The institute, expected to be operational after three months, is to focus on training its own staff and will also admit other students from outside.

Arvid Kumar, Dembesh’s Operation Director, says the institute’s mainaim is totrain South Sudanese nationals to acquire knowledge and skills in managing hospitality businesses.

In addition to providing training to general non-managerial staff, the institute will also train managers in the areas of Human Resources, Finance, Food and Beverages, as well as special courses for would-be Head Chefs and General Managers.

Kumar said the tutors will be Asian, mostly from India.

One year old Dembesh Hotel is owned by an Ethiopian investor.
